  6. Just Creative Design – $3000 a month
I derrived these stats from another Great earning Blog:  Income Diary ( owned by Michale Dunlop)
These are great numbers right ?
So what are really helping them to earn, is it that they simply grew up or is it that they are earning by just throwing a few 125×125 ad banners all over their websites ? Absolutely not !
Smart and sucessfull website owners earn Big Cash from their websites due to few Solid methods or call them even reasons that i can even list below:
  • Quality Quality / Unique Unique Content ! I will give this point a 5 star rating as this is the most and the very most important part in this article, If  you have regularly updated content and that too with qulity, give it some time and do your homework, Money and traffic will follow.
  • Advertising Banners : It is one way of earning money from your blog But not one of my methods, it makes your blog feel like a ad newsletter, so limit it to only quality ads and very few in number.  To get good ad banners, i suggest you  to directly contact webmasters and website owners you find in Forums like Digitalpoint and explain your traffic potential and get them to put up ads on a monthly or yearly basis. (this option has not worked that great personally for me, but contributed for about 10% of my earnings)
  • Affiliate Sales: This method of advertising has Really been over the web and has really worked for me and for many others well. ( nearly 40 -60% of my earnings are from the Affiliate Sales, so tie up with some good affiliate products in your niche and suggest them with your affiliate links within your articles so that you can convert your sales from REAL People who trust you and  are in need of the good products you suggest. Read this to know more on that: 12 WordPress Plugins to monetize your Blog ( this article will also give you know how about wordpres s plugins that automatically convert your keywords to affiliate links, isnt that nice ? )
  • Private Advertising : Another very important method that i use to make some cash, How ? its simple, browsing the web a lot is important when you have just begun, Some regular forums i brows are : Digitalpoint forum, Statcounter forum, SEO Chat forum, Programming Talk forum, WebdesignForum, SitegroundForum – Just google these website names and you will get the forum link.  do regular posts here, Talk to people you find there, Show off your traffic in the Sell Area, and invite potential advertisers to buy text links on your home page etc ( this has been working well for me) But remember not to over crowd your Blog Roll :)
  • Selling your Products: Its always nice to take out time to write in your own niche, like i have been writing ebooks and intially do a free giveaway and let people get a taste of what you write, then sell your or others ebooks on your website and make cash !
  • Adsense/ Chitika: These two PPC admodules have worked well for me, again dont over do it, only use these when you have lot of quality content and when people would not mind you using 1 ad in your article, that might also count helpful. Eg. while reading about best paints if they see an add to buy paints, they would ofcourse click i, there Again youve learnt how to get cash :)
How to get Quality Traffic
I have written many article in the Orangecopper blog about many methods of Building a trust between you and your readers, So getting traffic could be difficult, but Getting returning visitors is Even Difficult, But Do-able !!
  • Again Quality Content comes first
  • URL rewriting and preparing your website/blog for the search engines
  • Using Of social networks like Twitter, Facebook, Digg, technorati, Stumbleupon etc effectively as soon as you have your article ready.
  • Publicizing your Blog well:  use forums signatures, reply in blogs ( and dont simply do it, do it when its really required and when you have something to say, otherwise people wont even take a note about your post then forget about them noting your signature.
  • PressRelease websites: Using PressRelease has always helped me get good quality inbount link and traffic.
  • Blog Carnivals: Use Blogcarnivals, blogcarnival.com. release blog carnivals. I have got upto 5000 Visitors on an article on many Blog carnival releases, its a good method to further flow in visitors.
  • Make Friends: Find Opportunities  to talk to webmasters in your own niche and exchange blogrolls.
  • Help others: with your articles, in forums and boards, so let people com to your website and learn rather learn from the same page ;) . so that will open up a road to your Blog.
  • Keep Them coming ( The most important ): Would it be of any use if a potential visitor comes to your website, stays there for 1.5 minutes and leave and never come back ? Absolutely you would not want this to happen! So bring them back and use Newsletter systems to keep your members enlightned and informed. Set up a RSS FEED and Newsletter system on your website and make sure you dont iritate them with frequent posts, but send Valuble ,good and informative newsletters linking to articles on your blog so that they keep coming.
So thats how i earn from my blog doing nothing ! (now ) But the above is the honest list of things i wanted to share with all of you so that you would also do nothing and earn in the future :) good luck dear friends..

Compare WordPress – Joomla – Drupal and their features

The last few years has been a great year for webmasters, Drupal , Joomla and wordpress has come a long way and are now a very stable Opensource CMS that can be very handy and useful for developing stunning blogs and websites.
But when it comes to You making a website and deciding which to select for your website, It gets Difficult ! So the way out is Sit down a while, chill and write down your requirements, use the Pros and Cons below to analyse which is best for you for your requirement as all are great CMS softwares !

WordPress Pros
  • Simple to use – No need for modifications
  • Excellent for blogging or sharing thoughts in a sequential manner
  • Even the most elderly of users can get the hang of it quickly
WordPress Cons
  • Not developer friendly
  • The community seems to like to complain
  • Upgrades bring more bugs than fixes sometimes
Drupal Pros
  • Extremely developer friendly. If I loved code more I would almost always pick this system.
  • Strong community to help discern the dozens (hundreds) of functions and tags available.
  • Can be used to create some really awesome websites that can outperform a majority of other sites out there.

Drupal Cons
  • Not very designer and user-friendly. It’s hard for someone with little code knowledge to make the leaps required to do the very cool things that Drupal is becoming known for.
  • Theming of Drupal has been a huge case of fail (until recently). Probably because it has been developers, not designers, that are making the themes.
  • Getting a Drupal website published could cost you more time, and thus more money, than WordPress or Joomla

Joomla Pros
  • Friendly for all types of users – Designers, Developers and Administrators
  • Huge community is awesome for assisting with creation of websites
  • Has been rapidly growing and improving itself for the past three years
Joomla Cons
  • Still not user-friendly enough for everyone to understand
  • Not quite as powerful as Drupal, and can be a bit confusing for some to jump into
  • Recently rebuilt the entire system from ground-up, and so there are still many out there sticking to the old versions (1.0.x)

How to promote your old Blog posts

How to promote your old Blog posts

How to promote your old Blog posts

Personally I’ve been blogging for more that like 6 years.. But i find visitors to my blog mostly browsing most recent posts or write ups. So how can we encourage them to read other good posts in our blog as well? Its important because there could be lot of other good information that could be very useful for our visitors. Today i would be writing on some of the best methods to really keep your visitors clinging to your blog and making use of it to the optimum.
Promote your old posts by using a good Archive script.
A good wordpress plugin option i would suggest is SRG Clean Archives.
Website: http://www.geekwithlaptop.com/projects/clean-archives
Download: http://www.geekwithlaptop.com/downloads/srg_clean_archives.zip

This plugin would give an ajax preview of your blog’s archived posts and hence revealing the entire blog to your visitors and its best posts.

Use interlinking plugin

This is the MOST Effective method to bring attention to older posts, simply install the interlinking posts and the texts in your blog would change into links to old posts. The best part of this option is:
1. You can control the threshold of number of links in a blog posts (keep it low so that you don’t look spammy )
2. Existing links would not be further linked and will be avoided
3. you are opening infinite possibilities to keep the visitor feel that your blog is full of information.
Example of plugin you could use for this are: interlink, YARRP, SEO Smart links etc.

Use “related posts” plugin to show related posts after each blog posts

This is another very effective method to keep your visitor sticky – it gives them few random related posts to what they are reading and they could find them interesting and continue to read on or return again -see you’ve captured one more heart hear ;)

Auto post rotating scripts

This creates an automatic rotation between old posts in your blog, dusts them away from your old archives and brings them to the front of the blog giving it more exposure.
Example of such a plugin is “archivist”
Plugin link: http://fredfred.net/skriker/index.php/archivist

Promote them yourself

The rest of the way to promote them is through forums, blogs, social networks etc… where your blog could be used as reference giving more information, this can effectively work when you don’t spam the forum directly with the link and use it wisely. Hope you have learned on How to promote your old Blog posts

How to avoid 404 Page not found errors on your website

How to avoid 404 Page not found errors on your website

Before we start off, let me explain 2 related terms, in case you are not aware:
Bounce Rate: When a visitor arrives at your website through normal search or any referral link, post viewing the page if the visitor instantly leaves the website without exploring the rest of your website, it’s called a Bounced Visit. (Here the landing page and leaving page are the same).
To calculate a website’s bounce rate for a given period, you divide the number of bounces by the total number of site visits during the period, and multiply by 100. Most of the Analytic tools like Google analytics have a tab or a metric that shows you the bounce rate. A healthy Bounce rate is always less than 30 – 40%, the lower the better.
